A few people have wondered how to create images to store on the Palm. Well, this is how I did it when I used an Amiga. The files referred to in giftopalm.arexx might not be at that location anymore. These links should work though (put them in gg:imgcon/);
- Download ImgV_MAP.p3 (59 bytes)
- Download imgtoppm (22672 bytes)
- Download imgvinfo (26572 bytes)
- Download imgvtopnm (20128 bytes)
- Download pgmtoimgv (18592 bytes)
Plus you might need to get NetPBM from Aminet, or I think I have all the required files from there in this archive. Unzip it to gg:imgcon/, if you don't have a gg: then make one :-)
When this script works, it works pretty well. It'll scale image down as required. It dithers to 2bit, which is good for a 4 grey scale device. The now common 16 levels of grey isn't done, sorry. It should only take someone 20 minutes or so to fix, if there is anyone who will do it. Basically just compile a new pgmtoimgv and make a new ImgV_MAP.p3 probably.
You will want to download giftopalm.arexx and use that. Cartoons.rexx is a script I wrote to transfer some daily cartoon scripts, but probably doesn't work anymore.
